You'll notice that on each little cube face the dots don't line up very well
vertically, but on each full cube face the little faces are divided into a set
of horizontal "slots" that are occupied uniquely by rows of dots. On the red and
yellow faces there are four slots, while the orange face has six. (The
"triangle" of dots on the orange face is just dots in two adjacent slots.)
If you read the dots in order of the horizontal slots on the little cube faces
in top-to-bottom order, and
treat them as button presses on a cell phone keypad represented by the full cube
face, you can translate them into
letters. The letters form one word per face (red, yellow, orange--rainbow
order): FIND CLUE INSIDE.

At this point Game Control, sadistic fiends that we are, hopes that you
solved the cube by taking it apart, because now you're kicking yourself for
putting it back together! But don't feel too bad, because the next stage of the
clue consists of tiny letters written in blue marker on the inside corners of
the six center faces that hold the cube together. It turns out to be very hard
to take a picture of them (because it's very hard to see them) but you
may be able to see an "S" here:

Taking the squares in rainbow order of faces (red, orange,
yellow, green, blue...white--OK, almost rainbow order) and reading around the
corners of each face, the letters come out in groups of four. Arranging the four
letters from each face in the correct order results in

or VALLEY OF FIRE WHITE DOMES.
During this clue's conception it was noted that even when the
letters were written in shiny metallic gold ink, six out of six test subjects
failed to notice them when putting the cube back together! But on the off chance
that Game players are more sensitive than test subjects, we switched to the blue
marker, which is nearly invisible except in raking light.
